About Delhi

Delhi, Capital of India, is a city steeped in diverse mix of culture and tradition. A real blend of tradition and modernity.

Delhi’s age old monuments and stand cheek-by-jowl with ultramodern sky-scrapers. The city, situated on the banks of Yamuna River, is studded with monuments and modern complexes, park and gardens, national memorials, museums, galleries, churches, mosques and temples. The broad tree lined avenues and vistas of Lutyen’s Delhi, centered around the Rashtrapati Bhawan and the narrow alleys with small shop huddled together in Chandni Chowk, inside the historical walled city all reflect the true spirit of age old Delhi.

Among the popular tourist locations in Delhi are the Qutub -Minar,Red-Fort, Jama Masjid, Lotus Temple, Mughal Gardens, Humanyun’s Tomb, Zoological gardens and park with attractions for the young and the old. While at one end of the city is south Delhi’s Qutub-Minar, a beautiful 73m high Stone monument towering above New Delhi’s skyline, the old Delhi of Ghalib has within it Jama-Masjid, one of the largest Historic Mosques in Asia and the Red-Fort, built by the great Mughal Emperor, Shahjahan.

A short drive from India Gate and Rashtrapati Bhawan is the Lotus Temple, a marvel of modern architecture in white marble which resembles a newly blossoming fresh Lotus, dedicated to the Bahai’s Faith; this is among the finest monuments of New Delhi.

For those who wish for more, a short distance away are Agra, Jaipur, Corbett-National Park, Khajuraho and the Ajanta and Ellora Caves. Jantar Mantar , Memorial Mahatma Gandhi , Red Fort.
